11 years ago John Colacicco had his eyes set on 126a Norton ST Leichhardt.
It was a run down old BP Station. As he could see it's potential that one day Norton St will eventually be the thriving cafe strip it is today; know as LITTLE ITALY.

He persisted with his ideas though having many people
against him not seeing the big picture he pursued his ideas and followed his heart, and began to renovate.
As council requested that the structure remains the same, he then had to work around that, leaving the garage image intact. As a matter of fact today,
It is still referred to as the old BP station!
In 1994 Cafe Gioia opened it's doors to the public, the response was unbelievable, people came from all over the country to see and taste the food at the old BP station.
cafe Gioia is one of the first original wood fired pizzerias in Sydney, serving not only pizza but also a wide variety of Italian cuisines.

Now ten years on Cafe gioia has established itself throughout Sydney as a restaurant with great food, great atmosphere, and a great team at your service.
As for John Colacicco he has now endeavored into the finance world and began a partnership company by the name of F.S.N.G finance.
He has left the business to his two Son Gilbert and Daughter Antonella, which it is successfully been run today.
